Construction Details


MERO-SCHMIDLIN (UK) PLC are currently on site providing 22,000m² external curtain walling cladding to Stanhope Properties 'Willis Building' at 51 Lime Street in the City of London.

Two seperate buildings are being clad - the tower consisting of three interlocking blocks of 16, 23 and 29 stories adjacent to the Lloyds Building, and the 10 story FAB Building (Fenchurch Avenue Building) on the opposite side of the pedestrian plaza, with completion due spring/summer 2007. MERO-SCHMIDLIN is currently providing the following cladding types and finishes to the facades:

Externally ventilated double skin cladding to East elevation of the tower levels 2 to 23, and West elevation of the tower levels 2 to 15 and 17 to 22.
Thermally broken aluminium framed double glazing with adjoining solid panels. Numerous variations, to Tower North and South Facades levels 2 to 23 and plant levels, and FAB building North, East and Southwest facade levels 2 to 8.
Structural Silicone Double Glazing with cantilevered outer pane and fritted glass to FAB terrace (level 9) cladding.
Unitised single laminated glazing to plant levels on the east and west facades of the tower.
Aluminium framed stick system SSG to tower terrace levels 16 and 23.
Extension of cladding to handrail height at terrace levels.
Solid ribbed finish stainless steel cladding to overlap areas and 'wingtips' integrating into surrounding cladding systems.
