MERO provided the unique glazed twin wall façade and sloping roof of the 14 storey apartment block, and the curtain walling to the retail units beneath, which make this building an impressive modern addition to Manchester’s changing skyline. The inner skin of the twin wall façade consists of 5000m² of double glazed unitised aluminium curtain walling, complete with doors and opening lights, which forms the main apartment wall and separates it from each apartment’s feature terrace. The outer skin façade to the building consists of 4650m² of frameless single glazed louvers that automatically operate dependant on the weather conditions to naturally regulate the building climate. One of the features of the two and three storey penthouse apartments is the individual sloping roofs. These, along with point fixed glazed facades to these apartments, separate the penthouses to provide secluded outside roof top terrace areas with excellent views out across the city.
